If you sing for fun or want to share your talent with the world then I am here to help you!

Welcome!

Welcome to my teaching studio where I have the great pleasure of sharing my love of music and singing with students of all ages and abilities.

What the Studio Offers

Singing lessons that are tailored to the goals and desires of each individual student, offered in a stimulating and supportive environment.

What to Expect

During our time together, I will help to safely guide you through the technical foundations including breath support, ear training, rhythm, intonation and diction. Lessons with me will also feature a mixture of functional vocal exercises, body awareness, solfege, finding repertoire together, song interpretation and audition and performance preparation. The first half of the lesson we'll do a quick check-in on how you're feeling, followed by some stretches and custom exercises that encourage a balanced, healthy, and expressive sound throughout your vocal range. And the second half we apply it to the songs that YOU want to sing!

For my younger students I believe that a child's voice lesson should be fun! I keep them entertained by engaging them in a playful way by using simple songs, games, and pick exercises to aid in developing a musically tuned ear. I will suggest age-appropriate repertoire from pop music, folk songs, Broadway and more!

Through our journey together, I am dedicated to empowering my students to achieve their goals by de-mystifying the act of singing. I use my voice, education and experience to help and guide all my students to find their true, efficient, powerful and healthy voice!

My Story

I discovered my love for singing and theatre at a young age. I remember finding my Mom's original Broadway recording of "South Pacific" on an album set in a drawer in an armoire in our dining room. I played it over and over on my small record player in my room and sang the song "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair" while looking into a mirror that was attached to the back of my door, using a hair brush as my microphone. From then I was hooked! Fast forward to many years later when I landed on Broadway in Les Miserables. Well, it wasn't exactly a fast road to the Big White Way. As a tween and teen I performed in theatre camp and many school musicals from elementary to high school, through collage and also performed plenty of community theatre productions. I took voice lessons all through those years and I still do to this day! I have performed in regional and stock theaters around the country have performed Off-Broadway and in National Tours and even a musical with the Hamburg Opera in Germany. I've also performed as a soloist with symphonies in both the US and Europe.

I have been honored to sing back up for artists such as Hugh Jackman, Mariah Carey,

Barry Manilow, Harry Connick, Jr., Vanessa Williams, Gloria Estefan, Stephanie Mills

and Broadway stars such as Patti LuPone, Liza Minnelli, Billy Porter, Brian Stokes Mitchell,

Liz Callaway, Keala Settle, Kristen Chenoweth, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Norm Lewis and more!

I am a proud member of Broadway Inspirational Voices gospel choir for 24 years, with whom I have sung on stages such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, City Center, Symphony Space, Madison Square Garden, and the Apollo theatre. I have also performed at several TONY Awards! I am a graduate of SUNY Purchase where I majored in Voice and received a BA in Music. I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and a long-standing member of AEA, and SAG/AFTRA. I'm also certified in levels I, II and III and teach using the principles of Somatic Voicework™  The LoVetri Method.

*Somatic Voicework™ is a body-based method of vocal pedagogy that incorporates physical

awareness, aural acuity, kinesthetic development and vocal freedom. It is supported by voice

science, vocal hygiene and medical information. It promotes technical security, stylistic accuracy

and personal satisfaction. It honors the wholeness of healthy vocal use and the individuality of

every vocal artist. It was developed to address contemporary commercial music but encompasses all styles.

I teach a variety of styles of singing including (but not limited to) Musical Theatre, Contemporary, R&B, Pop, Rock, Classical and Gospel. I believe that in order to be the best teacher possible, it's essential to stay abreast of new developments in voice pedagogy and I participates in professional development programs and workshops on a regular basis.

*In addition to teaching private voice lessons, I am currently the Performing Arts

Teacher/Choir Director the Whitby School in Greenwich, CT.

KIND WORDS

"Our girls (Nia age 9, and Cassidy age 7) love to sing! Angela has taken it to the next level - giving them structure and guidance. They can't wait for their lessons with Angela and they always leave their lessons skipping, smiling and singing!  Angela makes singing fun! We really see the improvement in both our daughters!

My daughter began working with Angela during the early days of lockdown. Angela was a bright spot every week and my daughter looked forward to her lesson. Not only does Angela work with her on singing and piano but she always encourages her and works with her on having confidence too. We are so lucky to have found such a knowledgeable, patient and compassionate teacher.
